What is the Mystic Self? It’s the place where we connect with a higher intuition, with ancestral wisdom and a higher order of love. Some people find this comes naturally and may need to learn to master the ‘gift’. Others may learn through meditation, guidance and practice which requires a certain level of trust and often a guide, mentor or ‘guru’ to teach you. Once you’ve experienced it, there is no denying that it is real, powerful and very supportive of your life journey.
How does it impact your life? Decisions become easier, ideas are clearer and you feel more inspired by and connected to a higher purpose in life.
Many people have profound life experiences where they have the opportunity to experience the mystical self being activated or initiated. Experiences such as birth, death or life changing moments or events. Personally I was brought up listening to my body and nature and to keep my body healthy through healthy food, nature and natural medicines. Through pregnancy, birth and motherhood my experience and understanding deepened and broadened. Thankfully in this realm of my life it came easily and effortlessly with homebirth practices proving to be another opportunity to develop and explore such abilities in a supportive environment. My children went through Steiner education, which also helps to develop this aspect of the children. I then spent years working with mentors to develop and gain mastery over the awareness in other areas of my life. This was an immense blessing when it came to the sudden death of my husband and guiding myself and our 6 children through the transformational process of grief.
So how can you develop your mystical abilities with Full Moon events?
1. Bathe in the full moon light. By this I mean go outside and relax under the moonlight. Breathe slowly in and out. Allow your breath to find a gentle natural rhythm. Focus on what you are grateful for in your life - past, present and future.
2. Allow the moon’s energy and light to wash over you and emotions to come to surface. Observe without any need to make meaning of anything. Keep the breathe moving in and out. Allow yourself to become relaxed and soft and heavy As you continue to watch your breathe.
3. Expand your awareness out further and further to the space around you - to nothingness and everything-ness of nature, the stars and the cosmos. Then come back to the breathe. Allow your body to take a deeper breathe whenever you feel the urge.
Then… notice the signs, the thoughts, the ideas, encounters with other people… Listen closely. And trust that it’s not a coincidence but you tuning into your mystical self.
